I Am Passionate About Writing
Working with language is a love of mine and has been for a long time. I have been fascinated with the power behind words and wanted to be a writer since I was young. I got my B.A. degree in English andbecame a credentialed teacher. I taught 9th and 11th graders writing, grammar and literature as a student teacher —and loved working with the children and this subject. The only problem was that writing remained my superior talent and passion; it struck me that I should return to my first love instead.
Copywriting, on the other hand, was a job I performed throughout my non-educational career at a travel club. I worked on newsletters, websites, business letters, ads, and changing the language of invoices. I was also responsible for most of their document creation for years. When I returned to it and began looking through all the old stuff I did for them, I realized this was my calling. I also noticed that I had improved much over my older work through teaching effective writing to others.
Since then I've been avidly studying copy and business writing. With my talent, experience in the office and the business sense I've gleaned from my father's work in the world of company management, I think you'll agree I'm a rising star.
